The handbag was made out of rayon velvet and decorated with Sharpie Markers blended with rubbing alcohol, and acrylic paint. the rest were painted with acrylics on muslin or canvas.
How many hours do you spend staring at a screen? These are responses from Studio Art students (9th - 12th graders). Game consoles, phones, cameras, television, drive-ins and home movies became the subject matter. We used 2 techniques per piece to separate the world of the screen from the "real" world.
Students were asked to create personal shrines after looking at many examples. Our art room has lots of bric-a-brac, and I am willing to bring in what I can from home, by request- so the results were quite good. Take a look....
